Living with Parrots is Hilarious

Living with Parrots is Hilarious

Parrots love to play.

If you haven't found a reason to laugh today. Consult your local companion parrot. Parrots are professional funny bone locators. A companion parrot has no need to be serious. Everything in their world is considered a possible prop for their own entertainment. Including you.

Every morning is open mic night at a comedy club. Snickers, Kirby, and Butters are the last to get up in the morning and wait patiently, if not sleepily, in their bedroom roost cages to be uncovered and released into their day. And like open mic night, I have no idea what jokes I'll get when I uncover those cages and first peer in to say good morning.

Parrot personalities are not dictated by their size.

Shock and Awe Snickerdoodle! Snickers' first reaction to seeing me is a great big *gasp!* and then the head twists of amazement, followed by "HUH?"  Every morning is shock and awe that I have yet again, shown up.

Kirby. Indian Ringnecks sound like radio stations not yet tuned in properly. White noise and fizzle. Perched on the edge of his hammock he peers up at me and speaks his truth of the day with a buzzy ham radio voice, "KirbyKirby. Good boy Kirby. Gimma kiss."  Cutest ham radio ever. Fastest ham radio as well. He scurries and disappears into the air, jet fighter heading downstairs to his food bowl. He has no time for lengthy greetings.

Butters, being a blue and gold girl known to conserve her energy on all matters, looks out her door then at me. She quietly chuckles while inspecting her talons. I suppose a girl needs to take inventory for her day. She inventories her talons randomly. She is a very lazy groomer. Unlike Snickers, who's always working his beak and talons. The best perches in the world for lazy talon groomers are Sweet Beaks Safety Perches. We have a good dozen in the bird's room. Placed specifically for one very lazy diva named Butters.

Living with a House Bunny is just as hilarious.

There's little difference between a rabbit and a parrot when it comes to humor. A house bunny will use all around him for his own entertainment. Including the humans. Leonidas Rabbit's food bowls are his favorite toys. Although he has another half dozen available. He loves and prefers to throw his plastic bowls. Some are for throwing. One is for kibble. He drags them everywhere and then up his ramp to throw down the ramp. His kibble bowl is empty. He throws himself on his side with a thud and a sigh. Over actor. There are no awards for over acting, rabbit. Except for Bugs Bunny. He got one.
