Co-author of multiple reports for the US Global Change Research Program. In 2014, Katharine Hayhoe said, "Climate change is here and now, and not in some distant time or place. The choices we're making today will have a significant impact on our future."

Expert reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Fourth Assessment Report. In 2019 she was named as one of the United Nations Champions of the Earth in the science and innovation category.
